The British Government himself is so done.
New Promo pictures - BBC Sherlock - Mark Gatiss as Mycroft Holmes - according to google images, the top two variants are unseen goodies. And very gorgeous they are, too!

I laughed so hard when I saw this omg
mycroft is 500% done
He’s so indulgent with Sherlock.
He loves him so much. I often think how difficult Sherlock makes Mycroft’s life, but this is about his harshest reaction he ever has. He just puts up with all Sherlock’s shit and rolls his eyes and gets on with it. I have such a soft spot for Mycroft.
Remember the best man speech? Sherlock has keys to Mycroft’s house.
Despite all the snarking and bickering, you know that when Sherlock’s life gets super shitty he goes over to Mycroft’s house and puts his shoes on the sofa and rearranges the books by typeface and eats all his ice cream and tells him he’s doing him a favor because he shouldn’t have ice cream around anyway.
This post is all the heartwarming cuteness I needed today.
And we know that Mycroft’s pressure point is his brother. He’s always worried for him, so much so that he dealt with Anderson the Fangirl to search his baby brother’s flat.
He cares so much.
I love this
oh god you can see mycroft looking back at the days of young and happy sherlock
that last gif just broke my heart
There is nothing sadder than thinking about young Sherlock turning cold and insensitive to protect himself from disappointment.
As I’ve said before, Gatiss and Co. are so damn devious. They’ve given us a puzzle (Mary) and are watching us dance. I’ve seen a lot of interesting meta on Mary that attempts to explore her back-story, often tying her to Moriarty or Moran in some way. But what has been bothering me is a lack of discussion about Mycroft. In fact, his utter lack of involvement in the Mary storyline throughout series 3, which I touch on a little in my meta, The Spectre at The Feast, is as much a puzzle to me as Mary. How is it possible that the smartest and most powerful man in Britain doesn’t know (or doesn’t mind) that his little brother’s best friend is involved with an ex-secret agent/assassin type whose gone a bit freelance?
It occurred to me that it might be because he’s the one who hired Mary to look after John while Sherlock was away. Here’s my reasoning.
